With respect for the variety of faiths among us, let us pray: God of all vision, power, and authority - help us this day to see the unity of your creation. In the howling winds of today's winter storm, let us hear your promise to sustain this 2009-02-06 House Journal Page 0178 place as a beautiful and bountiful home for salmon, whale, eagle, raven, and bear, as well as for the creature we call human. Your abundant gift of water blesses and connects us all. Snow and rain fall on the just and on the unjust. Inspired by your constant care, lead us in our relationships with all creatures to acknowledge your non-negotiable love for all. Just as winter storms carry the promise of abundant springs, may you sustain these representatives in every challenge they take up on our behalf with the promise of times of refreshing for us all. Give them the vision of prophets, of those who find hope in dark and doubtful times. Make them to be women and men who see the hungry and know how to fill them; who see the lost and know how to find them; who see our common hope and know how to make it blossom. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Fairclough.
