Full Journal pdf2009-04-13 House Journal Page 0937 HR 7 The following was read the second time: HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 7 Requesting the United States Congress to permanently repeal the federal unified gift and estate tax. with the: Journal Page JUD RPT 4DP 1NR 518 Amendment No. 1 was offered by Representative Gara: Page 2, line 22, following "tax": Insert "for any and all assets up to $5,000,000 in value" Representative Gara moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 1 be adopted. Representative Johnson objected. Representatives Gruenberg, Gardner, and Kerttula moved and asked unanimous consent that they be allowed to abstain from voting because of a conflict of interest. Objection was heard, and the members were required to vote. The question being: "Shall Amendment No. 1 be adopted?" The roll was taken with the following result: HR 7 Second Reading Amendment No. 1 YEAS: 13 NAYS: 25 EXCUSED: 0 ABSENT: 2 Yeas: Buch, Cissna, Crawford, Doogan, Gara, Gardner, Guttenberg, Holmes, Kawasaki, Kerttula, Petersen, Salmon, Tuck Nays: Austerman, Chenault, Coghill, Dahlstrom, Edgmon, Fairclough, Foster, Gatto, Gruenberg, Harris, Herron, Johansen, Johnson, Joule, Keller, Lynn, Millett, Munoz, Neuman, Olson, Ramras, Seaton, Stoltze, Thomas, Wilson 2009-04-13 House Journal Page 0938 Absent: Hawker, Kelly And so, Amendment No. 1 was not adopted.
