Respecting the differences represented here today, I would ask you please to join with me in prayer. 2007-04-11 House Journal Page 0742 Dear Lord: I once again come before you to ask your blessings on this day. Thank you for the sun; it's great. I pray for guidance and clear direction in the legislative process. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and to lean not on our own understanding; in all our ways to acknowledge you, and that you will direct our paths. I do acknowledge your sovereignty, Lord, and ask for you to guide the paths of those here seeking your direction. I want to lift those young men and women before you from Alaska who have put themselves in harm's way to serve our country. Wherever each of them may be today, I pray for their protection and for their safe return. May we never forget the sacrifices they are making for our freedom. Lord, we also lift up the families of those here today. They also have had to sacrifice. Many of the families of these legislators were not able to come to Juneau with them and that makes it hard. It is not easy when those you love are separated from you by miles. I pray for patience and protection for those at home. I lift these requests before you in the name of your son. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Gatto. CERTIFICATION OF THE JOURNAL Representative Foster moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the 85th legislative day be approved as certified by the Chief Clerk.
