Senators Davis, Ellis, Elton, French, Guess, Hoffman, Kookesh, Olson, Therriault were absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Amanda Green. Senator Bunde moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Dear Lord, Please renew our spirits today and let us be optimistic and hopeful. Allow healing and tranquility to seep into us and clear our minds and hearts of bitterness. Today is a new day, let us rejoice in it. Amen. Senator Gary Stevens led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. Certification Senator Gary Stevens moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the one hundred fifteenth legislative day be approved as certified by the Secretary with the following correction: HB 300 Page 3087, under the State Affairs Committee Report, change the recommendation of Senator Wagoner from "No Recommendation" to "Do Pass." 2006-05-04 Senate Journal Page 3116 Without objection, it was so ordered. The presence of Senator Therriault was noted. Recess Senator Gary Stevens moved and asked unanimous consent that the Senate stand in recess to the Joint Session. Without objection, the Senate recessed at 10:45 a.m. After Recess Joint Session in the House Speaker Harris called the House to order and in accordance with Uniform Rule 51 turned the gavel over to President Stevens, who called the Joint Session to order at 11:07 a.m. The purpose of the Joint Session was to consider confirmation of the Governor's appointments.
