The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Richard Green of the Glacier Valley Church of God. Senator Olson moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. With respect for the religious beliefs of each person here I offer this time of prayer and reflection. Blessed be the Lord who daily loads us with benefit. In You we live, and move, and have our being. You are our refuge and strength, our very present help in time of need. We pause now in the intensity of our day, to acknowledge You, to thank You, and to affirm our dependence on You. Your word says, "Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. 2005-04-21 Senate Journal Page 1074 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the LORD, Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint." (New King James Version Isaiah 40:28-31) So during this prayerful interlude we wait on You and receive the promise of Your renewal, refreshing and strength. Now may "grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost be with you all. Amen." Senator Gary Stevens led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. Certification Senator Gary Stevens moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the one hundred first legislative day be approved as certified by the Secretary.
