With the deepest respect for the religious beliefs of Alaskans and all mankind, I offer these words. God, Allah, Jah, Buddha, Ganesh, The Man Upstairs … call it what you may; our differences in religious beliefs really only emphasize our commonality. The eternal task of learning, teaching, and practicing morality is something that transcends all borders and cultural disputes. However we choose to live or worship, I would ask that we all be comfortable enough with our own faith to understand and respect the beliefs of all people. May Alaska's legislators, along with lawmakers and government officials around the world, find it in themselves to ride the fine line that separates what they believe from what is best for the people they affect, regardless of who they are, what they stand for, or where they live. Thank you. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Berkowitz. 2006-05-06 House Journal Page 3714 CERTIFICATION OF THE JOURNAL Representative Coghill moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the 116th and 117th legislative days be approved as certified by the Chief Clerk.
