Loving God, I am reminded that today marks the beginning of Passover for the Jewish community. Bless them as they celebrate Your protection and saving love. Today also marks the celebration in the Christian church of Jesus' instituting the Lord's Supper and washing his disciples' feet before he was 2006-04-13 House Journal Page 3148 unjustly condemned to death on a cross. The Gospel of John tells us that on that night, Jesus took off his outer garment and began to wash his disciples' feet. I thank You, Lord, for each servant in this room. I thank You for servants who are willing to humble themselves in order to faithfully serve this state and its people. I thank You for all who serve the myriad of needs present in every community in Alaska. As this body makes decisions and seeks to best serve this state, give them courage to lead humble and truthful lives. Grant them the grace to be servant-leaders following the example of Jesus Christ. As this body takes a few days off, support them in Your love and restore their lives that they may be equipped for the remainder of the session and might come to know the gift of Your sacrificial love and resurrected glory. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Joule. CERTIFICATION OF THE JOURNAL Representative Coghill moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the 94th legislative day be approved as certified by the Chief Clerk.
