With the deepest respect for the religious beliefs of all Alaskans, I offer the following prayer. Lord God, be present with us today as we ask You to bless all the institutions that sustain this great nation and our richly blessed state of Alaska. We lift up before You the members of this body - all who make our laws and help us to keep them. May our laws continue to reflect Your will and help us to live in harmony with You and one another. Bless and protect all who provide special services, especially the members of our military, police, and firefighters. Keep them safe in their efforts to protect us. May our service for this nation and for the good of others win us Your favor and keep us in the path of eternal life. I make these prayers through Christ our Lord.
