Senator French was excused from a call of the Senate. Senator Green was absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Father Rob Bruschi of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Let us for a moment remember the seven who gave their lives for our nation. Let us pray. Deliver Your servants O Sovereign Lord from all evil, and set them free from every bond; that they may rest with all Your saints in the eternal habitations; with the one God, for ever and ever. Amen. Into Your hands, O merciful Savior, we commend Your servants. Acknowledge, we humbly beseech You, sheep of Your own fold, lambs of Your own flock, sinners of Your own redeeming. Receive them into the arms of Your mercy, into the blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into the glorious company of the saints in light. Amen. Almighty God, look with pity upon the sorrows of Your servants for whom we pray. Remember them, Lord, in Your mercy; nourish them with patience; comfort them with a sense of Your goodness; lift up Your countenance upon them; and give them peace; through our Lord. Amen. 2003-02-03 Senate Journal Page 0104 Senator Elton led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance.
