The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Greg Lindsay of the Northern Light United Church. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Respecting one another's religious traditions, I invite you to join me in a moment of prayer and reflection. Let us pray: God of our past, present and future, we thank You for this beautiful day and the coming of spring. You continue to amaze us, O God, as You seasonally renew and rebuild the earth. We pray this morning for those who have gone before us, for the pioneers, for our parents and grandparents and those who raised us with a sense of purpose and respect for others. We pray for us -- for a renewed sense of purpose and calling. And we pray for those yet to come -- our children and grandchildren, with special prayers for those who struggle just to survive. Help us make the most of this day, encouraged by those who have gone before, and inspired by those yet to come. Amen. 2002-04-25 Senate Journal Page 2944 Senator Kelly led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance.
