Representative Joule had been previously excused from a call of the House today. Representatives Ogan and Wilson were excused from a call of the House today due to illness. Representative Mulder was absent and his presence was noted later. The invocation was offered by the Reverend Jim Hardenbrook, Chaplain, Idaho State House of Representatives. Representative Bunde moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it appears below: For all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. (Romans 3:23) Lord, although we use different words for it, we deal with sin everyday. If it weren't for sin, preachers, politicians, and reporters would have to get real jobs! But, Lord, we do know that sin is not just fodder for comedy routines; for we know the violence, the alienation, the shame, the sorrow that comes from sin -- even ours. Forgive us, Lord, for those things we have done, thought, and said that make us uncomfortable in Your presence. All the nice clothes, washed faces, and sweet words do not deceive You. 2001-04-19 House Journal Page 1058 Make us willing to be changed even if it requires surgery of the soul, the therapy of discipline, or the humbling cleansing of apology. And now I thank You for those wonderful words of our Savior -- "neither do I condemn thee -- go and sin no more." For thy Namesake, I pray these things. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Whitaker. CERTIFICATION OF THE JOURNAL Representative James moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the 101st legislative day be approved as certified by the Chief Clerk.
