Representative Davies moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it appears below: Gracious Father, in this moment of Holy Week as we are quiet before You, we remember the suffering of Your Son: crucified on the cross, abandoned by most, ridiculed by those who watched, and mocked by those who passed by. Loving Father, sensitize us to the many who suffer today: the disabled for whom life is a constant struggle; the abandoned for whom life is an endless quest of love; the addicted for whom life is an unending battle; and the homeless for whom life is a daily uncertainty. Spirit of the living God, grant us wisdom in our leadership to both embrace the suffering and hear the vocal. Enable us to light the candles of help, hope, and new beginnings. We 2001-04-12 House Journal Page 0976 desire to give positive leadership and to make the right decisions. Help us - for we will not pass this way again. We pray in the name of Him who came not to be served, but to serve, Jesus the Christ. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Chenault. CERTIFICATION OF THE JOURNAL Representative James moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the 94th legislative day be approved as certified by the Chief Clerk.
