There being no objection, it appears below: Gracious God, our Heavenly Father, we, who are children of time, come to You who is above time. Take our lives into Your molding hands. What is amiss, amend; what is faulty, fulfill. As representatives elected by the people to this honored office, help us to lead both in our very lives along with our words. Save us from the temptation to do little in attempting to be everyone's friend. Enable us to see ourselves as we really are, a passing breath, compared to Thine eternity. Help us to make these remaining 2001-04-11 House Journal Page 0946 days count. Enlarge the scope of our vision. Make tender our hearts to the disenfranchised. Make us resolute in right principles, lest we be swayed by mere human power; yet help us to be flexible in negotiating. We dare to ask this in the Name of Jesus the Christ, who came not to be served, but to serve. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Joule.
