Lord God, as we have so many times before, we come to You to acknowledge our place in this world. We are Your beloved creation and You are our Creator. So we ask for Your wisdom as we submit to Your leadership and authority over us. We need Your clear vision to carry out our responsibility here of representing others and making decisions that help us all to live together in peace. We stand in the place of authority which You have ordained. So, help us to be Your servants to do what is good. For we acknowledge that it is to You that we are accountable. Thank You for promising to give us Your wisdom when we ask. May we have the discernment and courage to follow it when we receive it.
