Senators Donley, Halford, Mackie, Wilken were excused from a call of the Senate. Senator Ellis was absent. Senator Leman, Acting Majority Leader, moved and asked unanimous consent that Senator Ellis be excused from a call of the Senate due to illness. Without objection, Senator Ellis was excused. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Envoy Craig Fanning of The Salvation Army. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Father God, for all Your beauty that You share with us in this great state of Alaska, make us truly thankful. Allow each person here the ability to see Your handiwork in a fresh way today. Grant to each lawmaker a clearer understanding of the role they will play in shaping the future of our state.
