Senators Pete Kelly, Lincoln were absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Father Tom Moffatt of the St. Nicholas Orthodox Christian Church of Juneau. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. With all of our soul, with all of our minds, let us say, Oh Lord, Almighty, the God of our fathers, we pray You hear us and have mercy. Have mercy on us, Oh God, according to Your great goodness. We pray You hear us and have mercy. Oh Lord, our God, accept this fervent supplication of Your servants and have mercy on us according to the multitude of Your mercy. Send down Your bounties upon us and on all of Your people who await the rich mercy that comes from You. We pray for the President of our country, for all civil authorities and for the armed forces, particularly those in harms way. For the members of this Senate, we pray for mercy, life, peace, health, salvation and visitation. We pray for the servants of God here present and for the pardon and remission of their sin, for You are a merciful God and kind and unto You we ascribe glory to the Father and the Son and to the Holy Spirit now and ever unto ages of ages.
