Senator Lincoln was excused from a call of the Senate. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Reverend Larry Olson of the Eagle Wings Community Church. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Our Lord and Creator, We thank You for the spirit of those who founded and brought this state into being. They were not overwhelmed by what they could not do. They were not stymied by what was not possible. Instead, they were excited by what could be and by the prospect of risk and adventure. Grant these men and women that same spirit. As this state heads into its fifth decade, may we not grieve the death of that spirit. Instead, may we celebrate its renewal, dream what is possible, and do what the rest of the nation says cant be done. We continue to pray for Roger McKowan, for courage, strength, patience, and healing. Amen. Senator Elton led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. 841 1999-04-09 Senate Journal Page 0842 Certification Senator Mackie moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the eightieth legislative day and Senate and House Joint Journal Supplement No. 7 be approved as certified by the Secretary.
