Our Heavenly Father, as a state, Lord, Alaska is faced with a number of problems; some are fairly recent developments, but others we have been grappling with for years. Each has a solution and, like it or not, the people of our state are looking to their leaders to find them. We readily acknowledge, Lord, that our problems are not of the magnitude faced by others in war-torn or famine-plagued lands, but problems we have nonetheless. It has been said by Albert Einstein that, The significant problems we face cannot be resolved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them. So, here we are once more, Father, asking You to help us to raise our thinking up a notch or two and that You would fire up the creativity in each of us that will enable us to turn our problems into realized opportunities. Amen. 581 1999-03-17 Senate Journal Page 0582 Senator Taylor led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance.
