Let us pray,

Almighty and everlasting God, we thank You so much for the
opportunity that we can gather here with differences of
opinion, guided only by those things that we think are going
to help the state.

Dear Lord, we look at the spectacle of Your beauty outside
today and we realize that we are just pawns in this mighty
thing that You have called earth and even in the mightier
thing called the universe. Lord God, we know that You can
create such a universe and yet know each of us so intimately.
Lord, I would ask that You would be with each of us now,
forgiving us our difficulties and any diversion of views that

we might have with one another. Lord, bind us together so
that what we do from this day on will be for the benefit of all
the people of this state.

We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
