Representatives Kohring, Ogan and Rokeberg were absent and their presence was noted later. The invocation was offered by Father Peter Gorges, Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Representative Green moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it appears below: Lord, we come once again into Your presence with praise, and thanksgiving, and petition. We praise You for Your greatness, reflected in this Great Land, and the people who live here. We thank You for the opportunity to serve this land, and this people. We thank You for what we have already been able to accomplish in this 1999 session. We thank You for the staffers and other people who have supported us in this session. As we approach adjournment, we ask You to help us wrap up so many loose ends: budget, permanent fund, jobs, education, responsible natural resource development, tourism, subsistence, entitlements and other things that address the needs of the poorest of the poor. Give us the wisdom and the energy to work these things out, for the benefit of all Alaskans.
