Lord, we come once again into Your presence with praise, and
thanksgiving, and petition. We praise You for Your greatness,
reflected in this Great Land, and the people who live here.
We thank You for the opportunity to serve this land, and this
people. We thank You for what we have already been able to
accomplish in this 1999 session. We thank You for the staffers
and other people who have supported us in this session. As
we approach adjournment, we ask You to help us wrap up so
many loose ends: budget, permanent fund, jobs, education,
responsible natural resource development, tourism, subsistence,
entitlements and other things that address the needs of the
poorest of the poor. Give us the wisdom and the energy to
work these things out, for the benefit of all Alaskans. Amen
