Senators Donley, Halford, Kelly, Leman, Mackie, Pearce, Ward were excused from a call of the Senate. Senator Ellis was absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Senator Parnell. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Dear Lord God, Thank You for this new day. Thank You for the knowledge and wisdom we receive from You and others. Thank You for our children, Alaskas promise for the future. We acknowledge, O God, that our hope is not found solely in ourselves as we are far from perfect people. Thank You, instead, that You can be our everlasting joy. In Christs name, Amen. Senator Phillips led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. Certification Senator Taylor moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the sixtieth legislative day be approved as certified by the Secretary. Without objection, it was so ordered. 2857 1998-03-13 Senate Journal Page 2858 Communications Report from the Commissioner of the Department of Administration dated March 4 was received, stating the monetary terms for the collective bargaining agreement reached with Public Employees Local 71, representing employees in the Labor, Trades and Crafts Unit in accordance with AS 23.40.070-260. President Miller referred the report to the Finance Committee. Unfinished Business SB 337 Senator Lincoln moved and asked unanimous consent that SENATE BILL NO. 337 An Act relating to the mandatory incorporation of certain boroughs in the unorganized borough and to certain third class boroughs; and providing for an effective date be taken from the Finance Committee and referred to the Community and Regional Affairs Committee.
