We Thank You for this day and ask for Your presence within it. We acknowledge that You have created this day for our use and enjoyment. This day presents new opportunities for service. We come before You this morning asking that You would be present and alive in us. Give us clear minds, energetic spirits, good imaginations and the use of the intelligence Youve created within us. We acknowledge that You have created each of us unique, different and special. Help us to respect the differences we see in others and to allow these differences to be used collectively to move us forward for the good of the people we serve. We thank You for the time and talents given by these Senators who are called to represent the people of this great land. Help them feel the weight of responsibility upon their shoulders and undergird them with Your strength and power. Give them courage and power to act on the things that will bring goodness and health to the people of 647 1997-03-10 Senate Journal Page 0648 this state. Help them with matters of budget, new laws to be enacted and issues of justice. May they deal in all these areas with integrity making decisions with the best of their abilities and a strong conscience that gives direction. Guide the Senate this day in their work that they would find fulfillment in what they do and in how they do it. May they put their hearts into their work, that their work might fill their hearts.
