God of Patience and Understanding,

We are gathered here, often with different priorities
and purposes. May this mixture of diverse people,
through dialogue and a common love for our state,
resolve to find joint purposes that best serve the
needs of our people.

In a time when all segments of our society suffer
from a lack of quality role models, help us to be a
resource of leadership people, who by our integrity
and honesty, build bridges of relationship and model
the kind of lives we wish the youth of our state to
adopt.

In the chaotic reality of unfinished business, help
order to come out of disorder. Free us to live with
our frustrations and to be effective in our serving,
even when quick decisions elude us.

Regardless of the expectations piled on us from
every direction, help us to find peace in the midst
of chaos, solutions in the midst of dilemmas, and
hope where there sometimes appears only to be
hopelessness.
