Our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 121 At this beginning of the second session of the Nineteenth Legislature of Alaska, we seek Your help. Thank You for our legislators; may they be full of grace and truth, wisdom and understanding. Help our leaders to be tough on values, tender in support of people and risk takers in meeting needs. Give them creative solutions to the pressing needs of Alaska. May Your presence bring peace at times of disagreement, confusion and disappointment. Thank You for the legislative support staff. We are grateful for their patience, skills and untiring devotion. Bless them as they contribute to the work of this assembly and the State of Alaska. Grant peace and safety to our families. May the stress of separation be minimal and reuniting sure. May the business done today be according to Your will and for the good of all Alaskans. We thank You, God, for Your help.
