Representatives Hanley, Kott, Kubina and Nicholia were absent and their presence was noted later. The invocation was offered by the Chaplain Designee, Representative Green. Representative Parnell moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it appears below: Psalm 106 -- `Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord for he is good. His love endures forever. Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the Lord or fully declare his praise. Blessed are they who maintain justice, who constantly do what is right.' Almighty God, our Lord, we thank You for this magnificent day and this beautiful area, testaments to Your authority -- and Your love for us. We ask precious heavenly Father that Your hand be upon us during our deliberations. And in this penultimate day of the Nineteenth Alaska Legislature, grant us the wisdom to do what is right, as You did to Your son David. Father grant us understanding and acceptance of those whose concepts are different from our own. 1996-05-06 House Journal Page 4444 Father, help us control our emotions during these final hours together and have us focus on the good we do here -- and not the errors each of us commit.
