Lord, we come together again this morning for the purpose of doing the business of the state of Alaska. We also remember President Richard M. Nixon, before You today, and we ask for Your special comfort for his family and we ask for strength for the nation he served. All of us who have been elected and installed in public office know of needs where Your guidance is essential. Grant courage to express convictions, hopes, and dreams for our beloved state. Remove from us doubt and fear; replace them with decisiveness and understanding. We invoke Your counsel and knowledge for the task of government. We dedicate this day's time into Your care, asking You to make it count. We pray in Christ's name. Amen.
