Senator Lincoln was excused from a call of the Senate. Senators Donley, Ellis, Pearce, Rieger were absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Father Herb McMurtry of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Senator Sharp led the Senate in the pledge of allegiance. The presence of Senators Pearce and Rieger was noted.
