Senator Salo was excused from a call of the Senate. Senators Ellis, Miller and Pearce were absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Andy Hall of the Lighthouse Baptist Church. Senator Lincoln moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Father, You have said in Your word in Proverbs 14:34, "Righteousness exalteth a nation; but sin is a reproach to any people." Therefore, I ask that You would make each of the Senators of the State of Alaska leaders for righteousness and against sin. Guide each one, by Your word, in the decisions that they have to make today that reproach would not be brought upon the people of the State of Alaska. Moore, Jr., Chief Justice of the Supreme Court deliver his State of the Judiciary address. Senator Taylor moved and asked unanimous consent that the roll call of the Senate be waived and all members be shown as present. Without objection, it was so ordered. HSCR 1 Senator Duncan moved that the Joint Session approve HOUSE SPECIAL CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 1 Disapproving Executive Order No. 84. Objections were heard. Representative Navarre rose to a point of order stating there was a motion before the body. President Halford ruled Senator Duncan's motion out of order. The Senate Sergeant-at-Arms, Mary Arthur, announced Chief Justice Moore's entrance into the House Chamber. The Honorable Daniel A. Moore, Jr., was escorted to the rostrum and introduced by President Halford. The Chief Justice introduced the Justices of the Supreme Court: Jay A. Rabinowitz Edmond W. Burke Warren W. Matthews, Jr. Allen T. Compton Chief Justice Moore delivered his address. This address appears in House and Senate Joint Journal Supplement No. 8. Following his address, the Chief Justice received a standing ovation and was escorted from the chamber by Representative Foster and Senator Leman. Senator Taylor moved and asked unanimous consent that the Joint Session stand in adjournment.
