Senators Miller, Phillips and Salo were excused from a call of the Senate. Senator Jacko was absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Jon Paden of the Juneau Church of Christ. Senator Lincoln moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Dearest God, Thank You for life. We thank You for the differences in this body. May our various views forge what is but for all Alaskans. We ask for continued wisdom to do what is right, what is equitable. May our decisions ever reflect our hearts truly, not merely what is momentarily expedient. Help us account for the children, the elderly, the poor. I come to You in the Name of life, Jesus Christ.
