Representative MacLean was absent. The invocation was offered by the Chaplain Designee, Representative Parnell. Representative Hudson moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it appears below: "Let us pray. Lord God, we give You thanks for bringing us together tonight. We thank You for the relative spirit of peace and cooperation that has prevailed during this special session. We ask that You be present with us tonight. Give us strength; give us wisdom; give us discernment for what we need to transact here. Hickel, was escorted into the chamber to a standing ovation, where he presented the House with a plaque entitled "Alaska First" stating the following: "In tribute to the House of Representatives, Eighteenth Alaska Legislature, for a job well done and putting Alaska first."
