Representative G.Davis had been previously excused from a call of the House today. Representatives B.Davis and Hanley were excused due to illness. Representative Hoffman was absent. Representative Phillips moved and asked unanimous consent that Representative MacLean be excused from a call of the House today due to a family emergency. There being no objection, it was so ordered. The invocation was offered by the designated Chaplain of the day, Representative Parnell. Representative Menard moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it appears below: "Father, God, You have given us this institution we know as the Legislature to do the will of Your people here in the State and as members of this country. We recognize that over the last year our presidential campaigns have caused divisiveness, have laid bare some old wounds and we also recognize our actions in this body sometimes lay bare wounds. We thank You for the healing and restoration that only You can bring. And we ask You, Lord, that You will be with us and guide our decision-making throughout this day, this week and the coming year.
