The following invocation was offered by the Chaplain, Representative Martin: "Lord, we thank You for this special holiday in recognition of Reverend Martin Luther King - a day that reminds us of the struggle people have gone through throughout the ages to solve this problem of human beings showing their superiority at times, but under Your grace, showing that we were all created equally. We ask You to make all of us throughout the world - not just our nation - cognizant of the problems of those who are suffering, starving and out of work in our state and in our nation - and help us to come with solutions to solve their miseries and to make those people equal in all aspects of human life. For this and Your blessings and guidance, we pray to the Lord. Amen."
