CSHJR 47(STA) AK NAT'L GUARD YOUTH CORPS CHALLENGE PROG
CHAIRMAN SHARP called the Senate State Affairs Committee to order
at 4:20 p.m. and brought up CSHJR 47(STA) as the first order of
business before the committee.
REPRESENTATIVE TOM BRICE, prime sponsor of HJR 47, stated the
resolution supports the National Guard Challenge Program. The
program tries to help kids get their lives turned around. The
program is 100% federally funded, and the resolution requests that
the federal government not cut the program.

SENATOR DUNCAN made a motion to discharge CSHJR 47(STA) from the
Senate State Affairs Committee with individual recommendations.
CHAIRMAN SHARP, hearing no objection, stated CSHJR 47(STA) was
discharged from the Senate State Affairs Committee.
CSHB 312(RES) am EXTEND CURRENT SUBSISTENCE LAW
CHAIRMAN SHARP brought up CSHB 312(RES) am as the next order of
business before the Senate State Affairs Committee.
SENATOR LEMAN asked if the report that was due on February 1, 1996
had been received yet. He asked that the department be contacted
for an answer before the bill gets to the floor. He has no
objection to the extension.
CHAIRMAN SHARP asked committee staff to contact the Department of
Fish & Game to find out if there is a draft copy of the report
available.
SENATOR DONLEY made a motion to discharge CSHB 312(RES) am from the
Senate State Affairs Committee with individual recommendations.
CHAIRMAN SHARP, hearing no objection, stated CSHB 312(RES) am was
discharged from the Senate State Affairs Committee.
CHAIRMAN SHARP adjourned the Senate State Affairs Committee meeting
at 4:25 p.m.
