HOUSE BILL NO. 121 (title am)
"An Act relating to salvage sales of state timber and to negotiated
sales of state timber in areas where there exists, or will exist in
two years, a high level of unemployment, underutilized
manufacturing capacity, and an underutilized cut of timber, timber
that will lose substantial economic value due to insects, disease,
or fire, or timber to be cleared for nonforest uses."

CHAIRMAN MILLER called the Senate Rules Committee meeting to order
at 11:33 a.m.
SLRS - 3/6/96
CHAIRMAN MILLER brought HCR 5 (PEARL HARBOR REMEMBRANCE DAY) before
the committee, and there being no discussion, he asked for the will
of the committee.
SENATOR SALO moved and asked unanimous consent that HCR 5 be
approved for calendaring. Hearing no objection, it was so ordered.

CHAIRMAN MILLER brought HCR 8 (WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH) before the
committee, and there being no discussion, he asked for the will of
the committee.
SENATOR SALO moved and asked unanimous consent that HCR 8 be
approved for calendaring. Hearing no objection, it was so ordered.

CHAIRMAN MILLER brought HB 121 (title am) (SALVAGE TIMBER SALES)
before the committee as the final order of business.
SENATOR DUNCAN inquired if there were fiscal notes attached to the
bill. CHAIRMAN MILLER acknowledged there was a zero fiscal note
from the Division of Forestry in the Department of Natural
Resources.
There being no further discussion, CHAIRMAN MILLER asked for the
will of the committee.
SENATOR SHARP moved and asked unanimous consent that HB 121 (title
am) be approved for calendaring. Hearing no objection, it was so
ordered.
