HB 328 DISCOUNT FOR STATE MUSEUM VISIT BY GROUPS
CHAIRMAN KELLY called the Senate Labor and Commerce Committee
meeting to order at 3:20 p.m. and announced HB 328 to be up for
consideration.
ROD MOURANT, Legislative Aide to Representative Pete Kott, said
that state museums have long negotiated discount rates with tour
groups, but a recent attorney general's opinion, issued last
October, stated that the past practice may be beyond the scope of
regulatory authority that the agency possesses in statute.
Consequently, HB 328 would allow museums that authority.
SENATOR TORGERSON moved to pass HB 328 from committee with
individual recommendations. There were no objections and it was so
ordered.
SENATOR KELLY adjourned the meeting at 3:22 p.m.
