ACTION NARRATIVE
TAPE 95-32, SIDE A
Number 001
CHAIRMAN ROBIN TAYLOR called the Judiciary Committee meeting to
order at 2:20 p.m. and announced HB 158 would not be heard on this
date.
HB 234 ADMINISTRATIVE ADJUDICATIONS
SENATOR MILLER moved CSHB 234(JUD) out of committee with individual
recommendations. There being no objection, the motion carried.
HB 219 PAROLE OF TERMINALLY ILL PRISONERS
SENATOR MILLER moved CSHB 219(FIN) out of committee with individual
recommendations. There being no objection, the motion carried.
HB 120 INDEMNIFICATION OF PUBLIC EMPLOYEES
SENATOR GREEN moved CSHB 120 (FIN) out of committee with individual
recommendations. SENATOR ADAMS objected and stated that there has
not been enough discussion on the Alaska Rules of Civil Procedure.
He expressed concern that if those rules are not understood when
the bill reaches the Senate floor, the bill will pass without the
rules.
SENATOR TAYLOR noted he shares Senator Adams' concerns, but due to
the late date, he intends to work on it before it arrives on the
Senate floor, and will provide committee members with additional
information.
A roll call vote was taken with the following result: Senators
Green, Miller, and Taylor voted "yea," and Senators Ellis and Adams
voted "nay." CSHB 120 (FIN) moved from committee with individual
recommendations.
SENATOR TAYLOR adjourned the meeting at 2:24 p.m.
