       HB 151 MAGISTRATE PRESUMPTIVE DEATH JURISDICTION                       
                                                                              
 MR. CHRISTENSEN discussed HB 151.  AS 22.15.120 purports to set               
 forth the jurisdiction of magistrates.  Over time, the Legislature            
 passed legislation that gives magistrates additional jurisdiction             
 that was not cross referenced into AS 22.15.120.  The presumptive             
 death statutes (Title 9) give magistrates jurisdiction over                   
 presumptive death cases.  HB 151 lists that jurisdiction in AS                
 22.15.120.                                                                    
 SENATOR GREEN moved HB 151 out of committee with individual                   
 recommendations.  There being no objections, the motion carried.
