Representative Dibert was absent. Representative Saddler moved and asked unanimous consent that Representatives Ortiz and Story be excused from the call of the House today. There being no objection, it was so ordered. The invocation was offered by the Chaplain, Reverend Guy Crockroft of Love In The Name of Christ. Representative Vance moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it was so ordered. With the deepest respect for the religious beliefs of all Alaskans, I offer the following prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for this day and for this beautiful state of Alaska. Thank you for this body, the Alaska House of Representatives. Please bless each Representative and their staff members as they serve and grant them the ability to love each other even when they have differences of opinions. Lord, we thank you for the gift of love. As we read in 1 Corinthians 13 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks 2024-04-01 House Journal Page 2032 no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. THIRD READING OF HOUSE RESOLUTIONS HJR 7 The Speaker stated that, without objection, the following, which was held from the March 28 calendar (page 2020), would be held to the April 3 calendar: CS FOR HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 7(W&M) Proposing amendments to the Constitution of the State of Alaska relating to the permanent fund, relating to transfers out of the permanent fund, and requiring payment of a dividend to eligible state residents.
