Representatives Baker and McCabe had been excused from a call of the House today. The invocation was offered by the Chaplain, Major Halverson of the Salvation Army. Gracious God, What a privilege we have to live in such a great state. We are amazed by the beauty that surrounds us and the plentiful resources that exist in Alaska, from the mountains to the waters filled with abundant land and sea life. Grant your wisdom and guidance to these faithful leaders as they navigate the important issues of Alaska. May they have clear vision to care for our resources responsibly, so that Alaskans can experience prosperity for generations to come. We lift up our financial needs before you, recognizing the challenges we face in balancing budgets and meeting the needs of our citizens. May we find innovative solutions and wise investments that promote growth and stability. 2024-03-04 House Journal Page 1710 We're thankful for our teachers and students. Be with them as they work for excellence in learning and teaching. Give our youth the tools they need to become the leaders who will shape the future of our state. Even though we are surrounded by so much beauty, we know there are those in all of our communities who find themselves in need. We pray for the marginalized and those who are suffering, may ways be found to support them, and may pathways be provided for them to move forward into a brighter future. Bring a spirit of unity to this House as they work together for the common good of all Alaskans. May your hand of blessing be upon them as they guide us all to a prosperous future. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Tomaszewski.
