Senators Myers, Shower were absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Reverend Michael Grubbs, Ordained Deacon, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Holy Spirit, we ask you to fill our state leaders with wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and discernment. Grant to our leaders the awareness to address the needs of Alaska and set forth the right actions for our state. Help our leaders and help us not to be divided, but to commit to working together for the common good. Give our leaders and our people humility and respect for one another. Help us all to find common ground for the benefit of our beloved state. Let us find ways to compromise and be mutually supportive. I pray all this in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
