Senator Begich was excused from a call of the Senate. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Senator Gray-Jackson. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. During these last days of the legislative session, let us continue to do the work on behalf of our constituents. Let us work diligently not to seek personal power and glory but to only do the right thing on behalf of the citizens of Alaska. And lastly, help us to make wise decisions with the expansion of resources that we will be blessed with in the near future. Amen. Senator Reinbold led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. Senator Revak, Chair, moved and asked unanimous consent for the adoption of the Resources Committee Substitute offered on page 984. Senator Wielechowski, Acting Minority Leader, objected, then withdrew his objection. There being no further objection, CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 134(RES) "An Act relating to master guide- outfitter qualifications for licensure; and providing for an effective date" was adopted. President Micciche stated the bill will advance to third reading on the May 14 calendar. Unfinished Business SJR 16 President Micciche removed the Senate Special Committee on World Trade referral from SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 16 Calling on President Biden to immediately seek and secure an end to the embargo imposed by Russia on seafood imports from abroad so that Alaska seafood producers' access to the Russian domestic seafood market is fully restored. President Micciche added a Resources Committee referral to the resolution. The resolution was referred to the Resources Committee. 2021-05-12 Senate Journal Page 1042 SJR 17 President Micciche removed the Senate Special Committee on World Trade referral from SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 17 Requesting the United States Trade Representative to bring a renewed focus on the plight of producers of seafood in the state and the United States and to compel China to comply with its commitment to increase its imports of seafood products from the United States. President Micciche added a Resources Committee referral to the resolution. The resolution was referred to the Resources Committee. Senator Costello moved and asked unanimous consent to be excused from a call of the Senate from evening plane time, May 16 through afternoon plane time, May 17. Without objection, Senator Costello was excused. Senator Olson moved and asked unanimous consent to be excused from a call of the Senate on May 14. Without objection, Senator Olson was excused.
