Gracious God, I come before you today on behalf of these, our elected representatives serving in the House of Representatives; servants representing the lives of all Alaskans from one end of this great state to the other. They are tasked with a great responsibility to lead, to make decisions, to find solutions to the challenges that face the people of our state. It is a monumental task to be sure! So, Lord, I pray for your help, guidance, discernment, and wisdom as they do their work today, and in the weeks to come. I pray for insight as to how 2022-03-28 House Journal Page 2230 they can find common ground and come together to accomplish many things that will enhance the lives of all Alaskans. And I pray that in the midst of their work, your will would be done, as you, Jesus, taught us to pray, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I want to offer a special prayer for the family of Representative Don Young. I thank you for his life and his long service to the state of Alaska. As the family and loved ones gather this week for his memorial service, we pray for comfort, strength, and help for each one during this difficult time. I pray for those who will seek to fill his shoes to represent our great state. I pray for each official in this room, for their health, for the concerns that weigh on their hearts, for their families and the communities they represent. To You, O Lord, I give you thanks and praise for this opportunity to pray for these servants of yours. So, I bring them before you and I pray this in the name of Jesus, my Savior. Amen.
