Senator Costello was absent. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent Senator Costello be excused from a call of the Senate today through March 14. Without objection, Senator Costello was excused. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Mike Rose, Juneau Christian Center. Senator Coghill moved and asked unanimous consent the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Heavenly Father, thank you that your goodness, and faithfulness surround us and your mercy is new every morning. With deep appreciation we thank you for the privilege to live in this great nation where we are free to pray, worship, and express our faith. Almighty God I ask today that you would grant wisdom and guidance to all those who exercise leadership in directing the affairs of our state. Lord we pray for your blessing and protection over the Senate, their families and all supporting staff. Grant us wisdom, protection and peace regarding the coronavirus; may we have divine intervention. Thank you for your answers to our requests. Messages from the Governor A Declaration of Disaster Emergency dated March 6 regarding fire damage in the North Slope Borough City of Kaktovik, with an accompanying letter, was received pursuant to AS 26.23.020. The declaration and letter had been copied to the Finance Committee Cochairs and are on file in the Senate Secretary’s office. A finance plan dated January 27, 2020, regarding the 2019 August Summer Wildfire with an accompanying letter dated March 6, was received pursuant to AS 26.23.020. The finance plan and letter were copied to the Finance Committee Cochairs and are on file in the Senate Secretary’s office. Consideration of the Calendar Second Reading of House Bills HB 29 HOUSE BILL NO. 29 "An Act relating to insurance coverage for benefits provided through telehealth; and providing for an effective date" was read the second time. Senator Wilson, Chair, moved and asked unanimous consent for the adoption of the Health and Social Services Senate Committee Substitute offered on page 1809. Senator Begich objected, then withdrew his objection. Senator Kawasaki objected, then withdrew his objection. There being no further objection, Amendment No. 1 was adopted. Second Reading of House Resolutions HJR 25 HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 25 Encouraging the President of the United States, the United States Congress, and the Governor of the state to assist the National Park Service in its efforts to ensure long- term access into Denali National Park and Preserve by way of the existing roadway, was read the second time. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent the resolution be advanced to third reading and placed on final passage. Without objection, it was so ordered. HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 25 was read the third time. Senators Wilson, Revak, Kawasaki, Wielechowski, Shower, Gray- Jackson, Hughes, von Imhof, Micciche, Coghill, Bishop, Reinbold moved and asked unanimous consent to be shown as cross sponsors on the resolution. Without objection, it was so ordered.
