Senator Costello was excused from a call of the Senate. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Tari Stage-Harvey, Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. Senator Coghill moved and asked unanimous consent the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. We lift our hearts to you O great mystery beyond words and labels. You who fill the land with life and beauty. You who breathe your spirit into the mountains, the children, the rivers. Thank you for the gifts surrounding us. May we live in gratitude and praise. We lift our broken hearts to you O great healer. All those who are facing illness and fear, all who are living with grief, mental illness, addictions, poverty. We bear on our shoulders the weight of the abuse of women and children in our state, we carry the heartache of families ripped apart by meth and heroin. May your healing spirit work through our hands. Help us be gracious and present today so we may work with you in beauty and healing. 2020-03-06 Senate Journal Page 1948 As Frederick Buechner wrote, “Here is the world.
