Senators Begich, Micciche, Shower were excused from a call of the Senate. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Senator Bishop. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Olson led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. Certification Senator Costello moved and asked unanimous consent the journals for the thirteenth through eighteenth legislative days of the first special session be approved as certified by the Secretary. Without objection, it was so ordered. 2019-06-03 Senate Journal Page 1274 Messages from the Governor SB 78 Message was read stating the Governor signed the following bill on May 30 and transmitted the engrossed and enrolled copies to the Lieutenant Governor’s Office for permanent filing: HOUSE CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 78(TRB) "An Act establishing May 31 of each year as Katie John Day; and providing for an effective date." Chapter 6, SLA 2019 Effective Date: 5/31/19 Introduction and Reference of Senate Bills SB 1002 SENATE BILL NO. 1002 BY THE SENATE FINANCE COMMITTEE, entitled: "An Act making special appropriations for the payment of permanent fund dividends; and providing for an effective date." was read the first time. Senator Costello moved and asked unanimous consent Uniform Rule 24(d) be waived and the bill be referred to the Rules Committee. Without objection, it was so ordered. The bill was referred to the Rules Committee. Unfinished Business Senator Kiehl moved and asked unanimous consent to be excused from a call of the Senate from June 18 through June 22. Without objection, the Senate recessed at 11:08 a.m. After Recess The Senate reconvened at 1:03 p.m. Senator Costello moved and asked unanimous consent the Senate return to Standing Committee Reports. Without objection the Senate returned to: Standing Committee Reports SB 1002 The Rules Committee considered SENATE BILL NO. 1002 "An Act making special appropriations for the payment of permanent fund dividends; and providing for an effective date." Signing do pass: Senator Coghill, Chair; Senators von Imhof, Giessel. Signing amend: Senator Costello. The bill remains in the Rules Committee for placement on the calendar. Senate Resolve No. 1 Adjournment Senator Costello moved and asked unanimous consent the Senate stand in adjournment until 9:00 a.m., June 4, 2019.
