The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Senator Coghill. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. O God my Father giver of life and gracious to all who call upon you. We thank you for those who have served in the legislature previously and pause to offer a prayer of comfort for the family of Representative Bill Williams as we heard of his decease today. We look to you for guidance and help to find agreement in closing this session. As sons and daughters, we honor our mothers today, especially the moms among us today on the floor. We as parents want our children and grandchildren to live safely; so, we offer the work of this body today with expectation of a safer place for us to live in. I ask that you give us clear minds and a ready heart as well as favor among each of us, as we do our best to honor the people of Alaska today. I pray in the name of Christ Jesus my Lord. Amen. Senator Birch led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. 2019-05-12 Senate Journal Page 1116 Certification Senator Costello moved and asked unanimous consent the journal for the one hundred seventeenth legislative day be approved as certified by the Secretary.
