Senator Hoffman was excused from a call of the Senate. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Joe Mishler, Lighthouse Baptist Church. Senator Coghill moved and asked unanimous consent the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Heavenly Father, I stand in your presence this day, before your throne of grace, in obedience to your command. For you have commanded that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for all that are in authority: that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. Lord, this morning I pray for these senators, men and women who have committed this time in their lives to serve the people of this state, and for their families also. I pray you will bless them with health, protect them from harm and temptation, and give them wisdom and courage as they seek and follow your leading. I pray you would guide in the decisions made here this day, and my heart’s desire is for your will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven. 2019-03-13 Senate Journal Page 0524 God, I pray you bless us as we follow you, and please hinder us as we stray. And above all, Lord, I pray that each one here this day not simply know you as the Creator, as Nature’s God, as the Supreme Judge of the World, or as a Divine Providence, but that they would have a personal relationship with you; for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God my Savior, who will have all men to be saved. I pray these things this morning, in the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen. Senator Kawasaki led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. Certification Senator Costello moved and asked unanimous consent the journals for the fifty-sixth and fifty-seventh legislative days be approved as certified by the Secretary.
