Full Journal pdf2019-07-23 House Journal Page 1303 HOUSE JOURNAL ALASKA STATE LEGISLATURE THIRTY-FIRST LEGISLATURE SECOND SPECIAL SESSION Juneau, Alaska Tuesday July 23, 2019 Sixteenth Day Pursuant to adjournment the House was called to order by Speaker Edgmon at 10:39 a.m. Roll call showed 32 members present. Representatives Carpenter, Neuman, Rauscher, and Talerico had been excused from a call of the House today. Representative Thompson moved and asked unanimous consent that Representatives Claman, Fields, Kreiss-Tomkins, and Spohnholz be excused from a call of the House today. There being no objection, it was so ordered. The invocation was offered by the Chaplain, Representative Stutes. Representative Drummond moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it was so ordered. I give this prayer with the utmost respect for all religious beliefs: Heavenly Father, we come before you placing our deepest and heartfelt desires at your feet. We have decisions to make, Lord; we want it to be in accordance with your will and plans for the future of Alaska, Alaskans, and all people. Lord Jesus Christ, counselor of all who come to you and seek your guidance, help us with all decisions. May our heart not 2019-07-23 House Journal Page 1304 be hardened to receive your word. May our eyes not be blinded to see the truth and obedience to your will. We pray that the word of God and prayer be our decision- making tools and armor in all aspects of protecting the great state of Alaska and her people, and all people. We pray this, O Lord, in your name. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Hannan. CERTIFICATION OF THE JOURNAL Representative Thompson moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the 15th legislative day of the second special session be approved as certified by the Chief Clerk. There being no objection, it was so ordered. The Speaker stated that, without objection, the House would recess to a call of the Chair; and so, the House recessed at 10:42 a.m. AFTER RECESS The Speaker called the House back to order at 4:14 p.m. The House adjourned. CONSIDERATION OF THE DAILY CALENDAR SECOND READING OF HOUSE BILLS HB 2001 The following was not taken up today and will be on tomorrow's calendar: HOUSE BILL NO. 2001 "An Act making a special appropriation from the earnings reserve account for the payment of permanent fund dividends; and providing for an effective date." 2019-07-23 House Journal Page 1305 ANNOUNCEMENTS Rule 23(d) of the Uniform Rules is in effect.
