The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Dan Wiese, Church of the Nazarene. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. O Creator God, as I, your created being, come before you, I come today to give you glory, honor and praise. You are the source of all that is good. You are the source of all of our blessings. You are the source of wisdom when I seek you, and you promise you will give to all who ask. And I do seek wisdom this day. Thank you for the blessings of living in this great state of Alaska. Thank you for freedom. And thank you for these who give themselves for the betterment of our lives in this state. O God, I seek your help with the issues of our day; for wisdom for these elected officials who represent our great state and have many challenges to face and decisions to make. Grant them insight to resolve the hard things and grace to work together. Through your wisdom I pray they will find your divine guidance for the future of our state and for the concerns of our people. Certification Senator Micciche moved and asked unanimous consent that the journals for the thirty-second through thirty-sixth legislative days, Senate Journal Supplement No. 2 and Senate and House Joint Journal Supplement No. 4 be approved as certified by the Secretary. Without objection, it was so ordered. Recess Senator Micciche moved and asked unanimous consent that the Senate stand in recess to the Joint Session. Without objection, the Senate recessed at 10:52 a.m. Joint Session in the House Speaker Edgmon called the House to order and in accordance with Uniform Rule 51 turned the gavel over to President Kelly, who called the Joint Session to order at 11:06 a.m. The purpose of the Joint Session was to hear an address by the Honorable Lisa Murkowski, U.S. Senator. Senator Micciche moved and asked unanimous consent that the roll call of the Senate be waived and all members be shown as present. Without objection, it was so ordered. Representative Tuck moved and asked unanimous consent that the roll call of the House be waived and all members be shown as present. The Senate Sergeant-at-Arms, Grace Ellsworth, announced the Honorable Lisa Murkowski's entrance to the House Chamber. The Honorable Lisa Murkowski was escorted to the rostrum and welcomed by President Kelly. U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski delivered her address. This address appears in House and Senate Joint Journal Supplement No. 5. Following her address, there was a question and answer period. Senator Murkowski received a standing ovation. Senator Micciche moved and asked unanimous consent that the Joint Session stand in adjournment.
