The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Sister Marie Lucek, Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. I pray today in the words of the psalmist: My soul, be at rest in God alone, from whom comes my hope. God alone is my rock and my salvation, my secure height; I shall not fall. My safety and glory are with God, my strong rock and refuge. O God, today you gift us with sunshine and scenic beauty. I give you thanks. As our senators begin a new week of working on behalf of the people of Alaska I ask you to give each of them the strength and confidence they will need to accomplish what needs to be done. Give them a spirit of joy and of hope as they come together to make decisions. If obstacles arise give them the insight they will need in order to see a resolution. I ask this in the name of God, Creator, Redeemer and Holy Spirit. Amen. Senator MacKinnon led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. 2017-02-06 Senate Journal Page 0184 Certification Senator Micciche moved and asked unanimous consent that the journals for the eighteenth through twentieth legislative days be approved as certified by the Secretary.
